Insurance & Billing

Insurance & Payment

We are out of network with ALL insurance carriers. Therefore:

  • Payment is due at time of service.

  • We cannot bill your insurance provider directly.

  • After all services have been rendered, we can provide you with a “superbill” to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

Why it’s so hard to find an in-network provider

In Oregon, insurance companies offer contracts for psychologists that have ultimately resulted in:

  • Restricted access to mental and behavioral health services

  • A decline in patient outcomes, overall.

The decisions of insurance companies have created a very frustrating situation— for the public, and for providers. We—along with other psychologists in our community—are working improve access to care.

we need your help

Insurance companies won’t be forced to change how they operate until the community demands it.

There are two things you can do to help:

  1. Contact your insurance company (and your employer’s benefits administrator) and tell them that they should:

    • Revise their contracts so that psychologists are motivated to contract as in-network providers.

    • Include more psychologists in their networks— because our community needs and deserves the services that that level of provider offers.

  2. Sign the Healthy Contracts Petition: www.mentorresearch.org/review-healthy-contracts-petition

    • This Petition is key to advancing The Healthy Contracts Bill. This bill (as drafted) is designed to:

      • Improve the public’s access to mental and behavioral health care.

      • Protect mental and behavioral health practices of all types and sizes.

We hope that voices from the community (and benefits administrators) will persuade insurance companies to improve your access to mental and behavioral health care .
